Our Services

CRUSHER INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE

Our personnel have installed and maintained all types of crushers used within the mineral processing industry. FLSmidth, Metso, Nordberg and Jaques are some of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) whose machines we are regularly called to work upon.

ENGINEERED SERVICES

Our design and manufacture team allow us to offer continual improvement to both plant and process via mechanical and structural design. Our "in house” drawing capability ensures that the interface between concept and reality is not corrupted. Put simply - what's measured on site, is drawn on site. Our excellent ongoing supplier relationships have evolved over the years, which allows us to pass exclusive cost-savings on to our clients.

GRINDING MILL INSTALLATION

We are regularly called upon to overhaul, service and maintain all drive train components and their sub - assemblies. Under close supervision from the manufacturer, we have also worked extensively on large wrap around electric motors on some of the largest mills in the world.

The replacement of worn girth gears has become a major focal point regarding our service capabilities. The processes and techniques that we employ allows us to equal or better those tolerances attained during machining’ while significantly reducing installation time.

PLAIN & ROLLING ELEMENT BEARING INSTALLATION

For the larger tapered bore bearings we have an innovative hydraulic drive up jig which allows us to install bearings with an internal diameter (ID) of 1800mm.

For the installation of bearings with a cylindrical bore, we have a number of induction bearing heaters housed within our tooling cubes.

These bearing heaters will heat a bearing such as a 232 / 500 CA/W33 weighing over 900kg to a temperature of 120°C in approximately 20 minutes. We also have bearing heaters to suit smaller bearings with an inside bore diameter down to 50mm.

PRECISION ALIGNMENT OF ALL DRIVE TRAINS

All our specialised fitters are factory trained on "Pruftechnics - Rotalign Laser alignment systems" and are well versed in solving any and all
alignment issues you may encounter. We also have the "Rotalign Flatness" package, which allows for industry best standards to be attained when levelling both sub-sole packers and baseplates prior to machine installation.

PRECISION TENSIONING OF CRITICAL FASTENERS

By utilising bolt micrometers we are able to accurately measure the elongation of the fastener while it's being tensioned, rather than relying on a potentially inaccurate torque being applied to the bolt.

The replacement of worn girth gears has become a major focal point regarding our service capabilities. The processes and techniques that we employ allows us to equal or better those tolerances attained during machining’ while significantly reducing installation time.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Our team has extensive experience in QA / QC for both the manufacturing and installation of various pieces of fixed plant machinery. We are able to provide failure analysis, troubleshooting, and technical advice. Our team has worked extensively with mills and crushers and other mineral processing plant and equipment.

We have been successful in combining a variety of problem solving techniques with advanced engineering measurement in order to
ensure that what is being manufactured complies with what has been ordered.

TRAINING

Our most popular training package is known as the "Shutdown Package". The shutdown package is offered as a cost reduction tool for site and has a heavy emphasis on safety. It allows for Ripple Mining supervision, with some, or all of site maintenance personnel being involved in the job. It is site specific and involves a day of theory getting the site personnel up to speed with the standards and practices we are aiming to achieve. The "practical" component is actually doing the tasks associated with the shutdown.

In the past we have found that this allows the site guys to take some ownership of the machine. When offering this we also supply Ghannt charts, method statements, tooling requirements, and JSA’s which site personnel can utilise in their planning activities.
